Other Achievements
In 2020, Utica R.I.S.E. received the “Clinic Innovation Award” for the development and dissemination of guidelines for telemedicine delivery in student run pro bono clinics. The group was recognized at the National Pro Bono Networking Conference as having made a “national impact” on transition of services during the pandemic; The guidelines developed by R.I.S.E. are still in use today by the National Consortium for Student Run Pro Bono Clinics, headquarters based at Widener University, Philadelphia.
In 2021, Utica R.I.S.E. was approached by the Steering Committee for the National Consortium for Student Run Pro Bono Clinics, and asked to take on the leadership role as Coordinators of the New York/New England Regional Consortium of Student Run Pro Bono Clinics. The purpose of this organization is to facilitate collaboration between student members of regional pro bono health centers to provide consultation on ways to improve services, problem solve issues regarding services, and identify available resources in the region. In our capacity as New York/New England Consortium Coordinator, we also have a seat on the National Steering Committee.
